Nancy O'Dell started her career in broadcasting by working as a reporter at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. In the following years, she worked as a morning news anchor and the crime reporter at WCBD TV. Her reporting of the ineffective responses of police officers to DUI instances in Charleston caused an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division, which led to a change in directive from state authorities regarding DUI cases. In the year 2000, Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell the Best Report of the year Award to the entire South Carolina media. Her work in Charleston led her to serve as a co-anchor, reporter and NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Prior to she joined Access Hollywood she was a co-anchor on weekdays as well as the weekend anchor for NBC. O'Dell anchors the main newscast for Access Hollywood. In addition she is a contributor in NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. She covered events such as The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. As well as co-hosting the Pre Show Arrivals for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. In addition, she hosted for the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
